SCOTTY M. WAGES

Scotty M. Wages, CPA is the managing partner of Wages & Company, P.C. located in Atlanta, Georgia.  His areas of expertise through 31 years in public accounting include: traditional accounting and auditing services; tax planning, tax preparation, and tax representation; retirement plan advisement and administration; management advisory services which include forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, information technology, litigation support; estate tax planning and administration; and other client-driven services.  He is a CPA licensed in the state of Georgia.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.  He has been a Quickbooks Financial Advisor since 1995.

His personal interest in computers led him to serve on several committees within the Georgia Society of CPAs dealing with computer issues for use by CPAs in both public practice and private industry.  Mr. Wages has served on various personal computer technology/usage committees as well as managing accounting practices MAP committees for the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA).  He served as chairperson on the Personal Computer Advisory Committee of the GSCPA from June 1994 through May 1996 and served as Co-President of the Georgia Society of CPAs’ PC Consultants Group from January 1992 through June 1993.  Mr. Wages is a frequent speaker and lecturer for the Georgia Society of CPAs and for seminars sponsored by other professional tax associations.

Over the years, Mr. Wages has conducted speeches at the 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1999 & 2001 Southeastern Accounting Show for The Georgia Society of CPAs, in 1991 & 1992 at the Georgia Society of CPAs’ PC Consultants Group and in 1992 at the AICPA National Microcomputer Conference.  His speeches consisted of the following topics: communication usage with the computer, low-cost accounting software systems usage/installation, tax preparation software overview, an electronic tax return filing overview for The Georgia PC Consultants Group, a review of ten (10) client write-up packages for the AICPA National Microcomputer Conference., as well as a course on utilization of computer technology for the small CPA firm to increase firm efficiency.
